About Yann

Yann Varin was born and raised in Normandy, France. As the son of a French stylist, he spent many hours throughout his childhood watching as his mother artfully create beautiful hairstyles for her clients.  She passed her gift of craftsmanship and dedication to the trade along to her son who quickly discovered his natural ability and passion for making magnificent hair designs. 

Having picked up a pair of scissors at a tender age, Yann perfected the technical side of his craft quite early in his career, training under many notable stylists across France and by 24 his personal work graced the cover of French ELLE. 

In 1998, Yann decided to make the move to New York and within two years opened his first salon on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. His following grew quickly and in 2010 Yann realized that he needed to expand his salon and recently opened his largest single location on Madison Avenue.  

Since his arrival in New York, Yann continues to stay current on the leading trends allowing him to give his clients a unique mix of style and sophistication.

Yann resides on the Upper West Side with his wife and two children.
